Six Koans on the Deniability of the Wink

i. You saw the number 23 three times before noon. You decided it meant nothing. Eris, delighted, makes it four.

ii. A wink needs two: one to give it, one to catch it. The universe gives you the wink and assigns you both roles. You are winking at yourself across a great distance, and the distance is also you.

iii. Was that a sign? The moment you ask, Eris withdraws Her hand and says, "What? I was just looking past you at someone else." She was. There is no one else.

iv. A wink is the only message destroyed by being confirmed. Ask Her did you mean that and the meaning evaporates; fail to ask, and you spend the afternoon ruined. This is why She winks: it costs Her nothing and costs you the day.

v. On Syaday I prayed for a sign and received nothing. The nothing arrived at exactly the right moment. I have not recovered.

vi. Synchronicity is a coincidence wearing your coat. You will swear you recognize it. You will be correct. The coat is also a coincidence.
